Testing Procedures

We put all of our work through extraodinarily rigorous testing procedures, some of the most stringent in the industry. Our tests are so exhaustive and accurate, we've been asked to evaluate existing sites and recommend reengineering strategies based on our findings. We perform the following six tests for optimal accessibility:

Code Validation

We error-check the markup (XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.) we write on every page of your site against W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) and ECMA standards to help ensure your site enjoys browser support today and in the future.

Search Engine Friendliness

We build our sites carefully to take advantage of common search engine indexing/ranking routines. We review our use of markup, the semantic validity of our work, proper use of titles, alternative text and markup that define certain types of content and at the request of our customers, we will review their content as well. ADA/WAI/WCAG Usability & Accessibility Compliance

There may be legal issues with creating sites not accessible to people with specific needs. Even more important, poor design decisions and implementation could cost you business or your reputation. We always review our own work, but more often we are called upon to evaluate other sites, and our ensuing reports explain in detail what portions of your audience may be affected by certain coding techniques, if any, and recommendations for fixing the problems found.

Speed Testing

We test the time necessary to access your site at different Internet speeds, from 14.4 modem to T1 network connectivity. We then streamline your site as necessary based on our test results. When asked to evaluate outside sites, we follow this test up with streamlining recommendations, if any are needed.

Platform Check

We test your site on PC (Windows), Mac and Linux/Unix computers and on an arsenal of browsers, including Mozilla/Firefox, Opera, Netscape, K-Meleon, Konqueror, Camino, Safari and Internet Explorer, ensuring your site can be accessed and used regardless of your audience members' personal browsing preferences. We test sites on PDAs and cell phone Web browsers to ensure exposure to these growing markets. We also test text-based browsers, screen readers and a whole host of style sheets designed for people with various visual impairments.

International Accessibility

In the course of producing our test results, we test your site through a network of industry colleagues around the world, including Japan, Sweden, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Russia (availability for testing will vary) and various points in the United States. Any abnormalities specific to a region will be noted in these tests.

You will be hard-pressed to find a more comprehensive optimization plan than the one we employ. Properly implemented, we ensure your site is as accessible and usable by as many people in as many localities as possible.
